Bread Calories - they follow you in each and every meal!

Are you on a Low Carb Diet?!… I am sure they restricted you to eat the high carbs foods such as white bread which includes more bread calories than usual, and other white food like white pasta and white rice. The next thing they will do is to restrict getting close to white walls! maybe you’ll gain more weight!

Anyway … I was in this role too, eating only low carb, low fat, low calories food to get rid of my fat. However, as I joined this weight loss plan called, Fat loss 4 idiots, it was pretty convincing, it helped look on this picture the other way around.

Okay, lets face the facts; most bread calories come from carbohydrates. White bread calories and Brown bread calories are almost the same, however, the carbohydrates in the white bread come from refined flour. So, with the same amount of bread that you eat, in white bread you will not absorb bread calories as you absorb in brown bread.

Why is that? … Well, due to the high fiber levels in brown bread you will absorb calories slower. Fiber also, fill your stomach quicker, however flour which is in white bread NOT.

How to monitor your white bread calories?!

It is pretty simple, you can eat white bread, but not until you get full. Don’t eat much; get helped from the list of calorie count below, to know how much you should eat for a handful amount of calories in your meal.

If you’re thinking “Well, it’s not that easy” and the delicious hot bread is controlling your diet plan. I was in the exact same position and it’s hard to get rid of bread.

Get the right tools to control your Bread Calories

Below is a list of bread calories, with different types of bread. Just remember that an average slice weighs about 40 - 70 grams (1.5  - 2.5 oz).

  1. White bread: 1 thin slice (40 gr.) - 95 bread calories.
  2. Brown bread (Wholemeal): 1 thick slice (40 gr.) - 90 bread calories.
  3. Low Carb Bread: 1 slice (40 gr.) - 80 bread calories.
  4. Low Carb Wraps: 1 wrap (40 gr.) - 65 bread calories.
  5. Hamburger Roll: 1 roll (28 gr.) - 74 bread calories.
  6. Hotdog Roll: 1 roll (75 gr.) - 190 bread calories.
  7. Corn Bread: 1 slice (90 gr.) - 180 bread calories.
  8. Dinner Roll: 1 slice (28 gr.) - 76 calories.
  9. Garlic Bread: 1 slice (40 gr.) - 160 calories.
  10. Turkish Bread: 1 slice (50 gr.) - 135 calories.
  11. Raisin Bread: 1 slice (30 gr.) - 80 calories.
  12. Mountain Bread: 1 slice (40 gr.) - 70 calories.
  13. Pita Bread: 1 pocket (50 gr.) - 140 calories.
